ACCOMMODATIONS
Due to the nature of the unit, all of the lessons within the unit have been created with the intention of making the literature as accessible as possible. I am fully aware that Shakespeare and many other authors of his time may not come across as culturally relevant or relatable to a modern day audience, and it is the goal of this unit to find cultural relatability through social justice within the works of William Shakespeare. Along with the nature of the unit itself, I have also created my assessments to be tiered through student choice and student personal inquiry. Effectively, I have taken the assignment given in my own college class that this unit was originally created for, and shrunk it down for my own students to complete first individually and then in their expert groups.
Likewise, outside of assessment, all guided notes, group discussion, and lecture will be multi-modal, with all information being spoken aloud, written/projected onto the board, and also provided online on my website afterwards for students to reference.
